After what seems like a long quiet period, Piececool has added 2 or 7 new models, depending on how you count it. The first on is the Torre di Pisa. Yes, that’s the “English” name of it. Don’t ask me. The other 1 (or 6) model(s) is/are the Mini Lion Dance model(s), basically miniature versions of the Dancing Lion models they’ve released before.

Starting with the Leaning Tower of Pisa, I just can’t help but call out that weird photo. Like… wow. Just… wow. No, I am not responsible for that, it’s direct from the Piececool website. Putting that aside, this is another architectural model that has been revisited to add more detail, more sheets and more bigger. And, despite initial impressions, it’s even got more color, but not that much. Hey, turns out I’m not paying attention, because Piececool never had a Leaning Tower of Pisa model. But Metal Earth did, both classic and ICONX. So… yeah, this one is completely different. Clocking in at 3 and 1/8 sheets, this is definitely a bigger variant that their old other Leaning Tower models, and I feel like it actually takes into account the fact that the top few floors were built after the tower started leaning, and so they are slightly askew to the lower few levels.

On to the Mini Lions! Piececool likes to innovate a bit here lately, but I’m not too fond of this innovation: this set comes in two packaging options: the full set, or a box with one random one. I edited the last photo there to add that detail I got from Google Lens translation. I think I’ll be getting the full set option if/when I get these. Ironically, these are a revisit of the previous Dancing Lion models, but smaller! The second to last photo there shows the size comparison between the previous models and these. It looks like each of the smaller lions are single-sheet models, so the full set is a 6-sheet box. And of course, they all come with fur and bead accessories. Now I just need to figure out how the heck to add these models to my checklist…
